How much does an event photographer cost?

Event-photography quotes reflect coverage and what must happen after the event. A clear brief should state the timetable, expected moments, delivery deadline and how the images will be used.

Factors behind the quote

  • Event type, duration and schedule
  • Venue, travel and access
  • Guest numbers and coverage areas
  • One photographer or a team
  • Lighting or specialist equipment
  • Selection, editing and quantity of deliverables
  • Normal or expedited turnaround
  • Personal, editorial or commercial usage

Define the deliverables

Explain whether you need a broad record, speaker and sponsor images, portraits, live delivery, a highlights set or a complete edited gallery. State file formats, orientation needs and publication deadlines where relevant.

Commercial use

Corporate, promotional or advertising use may require different permission from private sharing. Tell the photographer where and for how long images will appear, and ask the quote to state the agreed usage.

Compare quotes

  • Use the same timetable and shot priorities.
  • Check travel, setup, overtime and VAT.
  • Confirm editing and delivery timing.
  • Ask what happens if the schedule changes.
  • Record cancellation, payment and backup arrangements.
