How often should you have a cleaner?

The right frequency is the one that keeps priority areas manageable within your budget. Household activity matters more than a universal weekly or fortnightly rule.

Consider how the home is used

  • Number of occupants and time spent at home
  • Children, pets and allergy considerations
  • Property size and number of bathrooms
  • Cooking and entertaining habits
  • How much routine tidying and cleaning the household already does

Weekly, fortnightly or occasional

Weekly visits can suit busy or high-use homes and keep bathrooms, kitchens and floors on a steady cycle. Fortnightly cleaning may suit households that maintain surfaces between visits. Occasional help can focus on seasonal, pre-event or post-project work. None is automatically correct.

Maintenance is not a deep clean

A regular visit generally maintains an agreed set of tasks. Built-up grease, heavy scale, ovens, carpets or neglected areas may need a separate initial or deep-clean scope rather than being added silently to routine time.

Review the arrangement

Start with priorities and a realistic visit length, then review after a few visits. Adjust frequency when household circumstances change, or rotate lower-priority tasks instead of expecting every job on every visit.
