End-of-tenancy cleaning checklist
Use the tenancy agreement, check-in inventory and property condition as your primary references. This checklist helps organise the work, but it does not replace property-specific requirements.
Before you begin
- Read the agreement and check-in report for agreed responsibilities.
- Photograph existing damage before cleaning it.
- Remove belongings and rubbish so surfaces are accessible.
- Check product instructions and ventilate; never mix cleaning chemicals.
Kitchen
- Worktops, sink, taps, splashbacks and cupboard fronts
- Inside emptied cupboards and drawers
- Hob, extractor surfaces and accessible filters
- Oven and supplied appliances where required
- Floors, skirtings, bins and reachable surfaces behind movable appliances
Bathrooms and living spaces
- Bath, shower, basin, toilet, tiles and accessible fittings
- Mirrors, shelves, ventilation covers and floors
- Dusting, floors, skirtings, doors and internal glass
- Cupboards, wardrobes and shelves once empty
- Marks only where the finish can be cleaned safely
Final checks
- Compare each room with the inventory and your photographs.
- Check windows, curtains or blinds only to the extent agreed and safely accessible.
- Empty cleaning equipment and remove waste.
- Record meter readings or keys separately according to your move arrangements.
- Keep receipts and completion photographs where useful.
